Mid-summer is the breeding season for our riparian bird species! With the near arrival of the monsoon season, some birds will initiate nesting or produce additional clutches of young. Not long after the last spring migrants passed through, southbound fall migration commences for waders, shorebirds, hummingbirds, while Yellow-billed Cuckoos are just arriving to breed. Come learn about some of the common bird ID challenges we experience in summer during an early morning bird walk followed by an air-conditioned classroom presentation. Program will be from 7:15-10:15am. Space is limited. Some binoculars may be available to borrow. To register, please call the Visitor Center at 928-684-2772.
