Join local astronomy experts, Tony and Carole La Conte, from Stargazing for Everyone along with other astronomy enthusiasts, on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant.
Tony will share information about the night sky at 7:30 pm. and after the presentation, guests are invited to meander over to the professional, high-grade telescopes where they can view distant galaxies, star clusters and the moon. In addition to the stargazing program, this family-friendly event will feature kid’s coloring sheets, and a craft. Guests can also enjoy the Center’s animal exhibit hall full of desert critters as well.
Burgers, hot dogs and chilled beverages are available for purchase during the event brought to you by the Friends of the Desert Outdoor Center.
Attendees are encouraged to bring digital cameras and cell phones to take photos through the telescopes. Additional items guests may want to bring include binoculars, lawn chairs or blankets for seating, and a flashlight. The park entrance gate at the Desert Outdoor Center will open at 6:00 pm and close to entry at 8:00 pm. *Gate automatically opens when exiting. Admission is $7 per vehicle and reservations are not required. Park closes at 9:30 pm.
