There’s a partial lunar eclipse happening tonight, and we are bringing out our binoculars and our telescope for it! Clear skies permitting, we’ll be viewing the moon as the Earth’s shadow falls across it, on its way to about 96% covered at maximum (which occurs around 9:15pm, shortly after the park closes). If possible, we’ll also try to work in a few other celestial objects like planets or stars, and point out some of the major constellations. Bring your own chairs if you would like to sit, and bring your sky-related questions! Family-friendly program. Restrooms are available nearby, but please bring plenty of water. NO pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Competitive Track, near Grey Fox trailhead
