Meet the rangers and settle in for an awesome introduction to scorpions inside the Nature Center, with a slide show and meet n’ greet with the park’s captive scorpion ambassador. Then, we’ll get on the trails in search of bark, striped-tail, and giant hairy scorpions to marvel at and photograph. We will also be on the lookout for other nocturnal critters such as bats, owls, tarantulas, geckos, centipedes, stink bugs, and more! Be prepared to walk 1-2 miles on rocky, sandy, mostly flat terrain, but with a few slight dips.
Bring your UV blacklight to see scorpions fluoresce and a regular flashlight to light your way. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. lease bring $10 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
