Look for scorpions and nocturnal animals during this guided hike with Ranger Eric. Click on program title for more details.

Join Ranger Eric for a guided night hike to look for nocturnal creepy crawlies including scorpions, snakes, geckos, mammals, nightjars, and owls. We will hike about 0.5-1 mile on an easy grade portion of Slate Trail, with occasionally rocky or uneven ground. The hike distance and time may be shortened depending on how hot the weather is and based on how participants are feeling. Please pre-hydrate and have electrolytes before the hike, carry ample water, wear sturdy closed-toed footwear, and bring your own flashlights or headlamps. The ranger will have a blacklight to look for scorpions, but feel free to bring your own blacklight if you have one. Restrooms are available at the Slate Trailhead parking.

MEETING LOCATION: Slate Trailhead.
