The hike will cover 2.5 miles along the Mule Deer trail as an out and back. The hike is rated as moderate only for the short incline at the beginning of the hike. Expect rocky loose sections along the hike. Hikers should have water and a fully charged flashlight with them or extra batteries. Cell phone lights are not sufficient. If you have a black feel free to bring them along to help the ranger look for scorpions. Water and bathrooms are located at the trailhead. For those of you participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to work towards your goal! The challenge runs from Nov.1-Feb. 8.
