Ranger Olivia leads this picturesque hike to watch the sunset while also learning about saguaros along the way. We will see the sunset, saguaros, saguaro fruits, and maybe some evening critters as well. You may bring your blacklight and regular flashlight to look for evening critters(optional). This hike will be about 2 miles starting on the Spur Cross trail, where the terrain is mostly flat but is rocky and uneven in spots and begins with a slight decline, and then we will move onto the Metate trail to see some of the oldest saguaros on the conservation area. There is slight elevation change throughout the hike as well as some sandy sections. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. There are restrooms but NO potable water at the trailhead so be sure to bring plenty of water with you! Spur Cross is CASH ONLY, please bring $5 per person for the entry fee.
