Learn about the Sonoran Desert in springtime with a chance to see wildflowers and blooming shrubs. Late fall rains provided a start for the flower season so there may be a continuation of blooms or even a second round for spring. Ranger Nikki will lead the way to check the status of brittlebush, globemallow and possibly wildflowers such as lupine, poppies, bladderpod and more. This is an out-and-back route using Wild Burro Trail down to the Two Cow Cove area for 3 miles total. The trail is rated easy to moderate and the surface varies from level and smooth to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead.
