Discover some of the fascinating plants that can be found in both desert and riparian areas of the park with Ranger Nikki. We will see a variety of trees, shrubs, cacti and possibly late-season flowers brought about by any monsoon moisture. The route is a 2-mile loop using Spur Cross and Metate Trails. The terrain is rocky and uneven on this portion of Spur Cross Trail and transitions to flat and level on Metate along the creek. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Water is not available at the park so bring plenty from home. Portable restrooms are available at the trailhead.
