The hike will cover sections of the Metate and Spur Cross trails for a total of 2 miles on moderate rated trails, with some sandy, rocky, and steep sections. Along the way, we’ll talk about the renowned biodiversity of the Sonoran Desert and the plants that thrive here. We'll also be on the lookout for wildlife like mule deer, javelina, squirrels, rabbits, various species of birds and more! Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Hats and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. No pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Spur Cross Trailhead, near covered picnic tables Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Cash only is accepted. If entry station is closed, please place your money in the payment box at the gate.
