Join Ranger Olivia and Park staff to “Give Your Land a Hand” during the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event. Click program title for more details.
National Public Lands Day is an annual event that encourages the public to connect with the public lands around them. This can include joining volunteer projects at your local public lands or just simply getting outdoors, exploring nature safely and responsibly while supporting efforts to learn about and protect these special places. This National Public Lands Day, volunteers will help beautify some of the Park’s picnic table areas around one of our most popular trails by weeding, raking, and trimming branches and shrubs. These tasks require a limited amount of walking and a moderate amount of bending, crouching, lifting and shoulder strength. The work is outdoors in developed areas in warm desert conditions. As a token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive free admission to the park for the entire day!
PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.
