Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service – a "day on, not a day off." In honor of Dr. King, Lake Pleasant is hosting a clean-up event to remove trash and litter.
Event Description – Litter pick-up event at beautiful Lake Pleasant Regional Park to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteers can choose to pick up litter along the shoreline, day-use areas, and campgrounds. Volunteers must drive carefully and not over-exert themselves.
What should the volunteers bring? – Gloves, plenty of water, sunscreen, hat, PPE such as masks and safety glasses if concerned about allergies, sunglasses, salty snacks, sports drinks, weather-appropriate clothing, and close-toed tennis shoes or boots.
