Registration required. This is a one-way guided walk (almost 6 miles) with the Ranger designed to help 100 Miles Challenge participants attain their “third park” requirement by traveling on a segment of the Maricopa Trail. This walk is also open to non-participants. You must make travel arrangements ahead of time to dropped off/picked up or have a vehicle at BOTH the starting and end points. Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking at the starting trailhead. We start at the Goldmine Trailhead off Wagon Wheel road and follow the MT via surface streets, paved pathways, and sidewalks to Mansel Carter Oasis Park (19535 E Appleby Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142). We will discuss local history along the way, including the story of Mr. Carter himself, and make a brief stop at the Desert Wells Stage Stop on Sossaman Rd. This walk is limited to 10 participants and registration is required. Call the Park Office at 602-506-2930 x7 for San Tan to reserve your spot.  Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, snacks, hat and sunscreen. Meet at the Goldmine Trailhead off Wagon Wheel Rd. (Approx. cross-streets Skyline and Goldmine Gulch).
