Desert rivers are precious things, and they serve as the center of life for humans and animals alike. Enjoy a roughly 2-mile walk on the Palm Lake, Mesquite Meander, Lions, and Willow Walkway trails as we explore the unique prehistory, history and natural abundance of this special place and learn about the key role the Hassayampa plays in bringing life to the desert. While we walk, we’ll also keep a sharp eye out for birds, reptiles, mammals and insects that make their homes here. Trails are rated easy, although thick sand is possible in some stretches. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Hats and sunscreen are always recommended. Restrooms are available near the parking area. NO pets, please.
