Want to take advantage of the great desert weather and trails but don’t know where to start or need a refresher? Then come sit in on a beginner hiking presentation that will get you ready to enjoy the trails this spring.
Ranger Derik will lead a presentation on the basic skills needed to hike safely in our desert homes. Topics will include how to pick a suitable trail, what to wear, how to plan a hike, and what to take with you. Feel free to bring your gear along and ask any questions about this topic. A basic handout will be provided with info related to the talk as well as a list of some beginner hiking trails within the Maricopa County Parks system. Please meet at the park’s Nature Center.
