Hassayampa River Preserve – Adopt-a-Highway Clean-Up
Date - Saturday, October 30, 2021
Time – 8:00am – 11:00am
Location – Hassayampa River Preserve, 3 miles south of Wickenburg, milepost 114 on Hwy 60
How many people needed? – 6 people (adults only)
What should the volunteers bring? – Gloves, water, sunscreen, hat, closed-toed shoes suitable for walking. Face coverings will be required when indoors (as per County mandate) or when working in close proximity to others. Social distancing will be employed. Halloween costumes are encouraged, as long as they are compatible with your safety vest and all safety precautions.
What equipment will be provided? – Some trash pickers are available. Trash bags will be provided. Safety vests are required and will be provided.

Event Description – Participants will assist park staff and volunteers in cleaning up trash along our 1 mile Adopt-a-Highway stretch of Hwy 60. This includes along the road edges and in the median. Volunteers must be able to walk on uneven surfaces near traffic, bend to pick up trash, carry partially full trash bags, and work outdoors for several hours.
A safety briefing and prepackaged snacks will be provided before the cleanup.
