Join Ranger Eric for a guided bird walk to look and listen for resident and migrant species within the lush desert riparian habitat of the Hassayampa River Preserve. Along the way, we will discuss how to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the behavioral and ecological traits that make them unique. We will hike about 1-1.5 miles altogether on mostly flat, but occasionally uneven or sandy trails. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and bring ample water and electrolytes. Please bring your own binoculars if you have them, but some will be available to borrow. The hike may be shortened if hot weather is forecasted.
