Look for desert and migratory birds on this hike with Ranger Eric! Click on program title for details.

*Please note time change to 6:30-9:30am in anticipation of hotter than normal weather this spring! We may go shorter duration on this hike depending on the weather forecast.

Learn about birds of Sonoran Desert and migrant birds on this walk with Ranger Eric in a desert riparian area near the confluence of Morgan City Wash and the Agua Fria River. Along the way, we will learn tips for identifying birds of our region by sight and sound, and about the ecology of the Sonoran Desert and riparian areas. We will be in peak spring migration and in the middle of the nesting season, so a good variety of bird species can be expected! We will hike on the Beardsley Trail for at least 1-2 miles, which is rated as easy-moderate, with slightly rocky or uneven surfaces in places. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and carry ample water and electrolytes for yourself. No restrooms available at trailhead.

MEETING LOCATION: Beardsley Trailhead off of Beardsley CSR Rd., accessed on the north side of Hwy. 74 immediately east of the highway bridge over the Agua Fria River.
