Come join Ranger Kevin as we hike approximately 2.6 miles along the Spur Cross, Metate and Fairy Duster Loop Trails. Trails are rated easy, with a few sections of loose, rocky terrain and some elevation change. We'll be stopping to look at various plants and animals and talk about Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. Be sure to bring water, hiking shoes and your questions about the Sonoran Desert! Hats and sunscreen are strongly recommended. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Picnic Tables in front of the trailer at the trail kiosks
Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Annual Pass or CASH are accepted, and exact change is much appreciated. Payment can be made in iron rangers at Spur Cross parking lot nearby at end of road.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 5/19/23.
