When we think of the Lake, we think of it as a single place. The animals that live here have a slightly different experience. Surrounding Lake Pleasant are a collection of micro-ecosystems that we, as humans, often don’t consider. Each of these systems has its own shape, environmental hazards and conditions, and slightly different rules. It’s not as different as it might be between the lake and the open desert, but just around the corner can be a much different world, especially when you’re only 3 inches tall!
Walk the lovely Wild Burro Trail from Wild Burro Day Use Area to Pipeline Canyon Day Use Area! This is a roughly 2.0-mile one way hike on easy to moderate rated trail. This trail, created by our lovely wild burro population, winds through a few of the lakes different ecological areas showcasing the types of areas different animals might call home.
