McDowell Mountain Regional Park

Stop by an information table at the Nature Center where Ranger Nikki will share helpful tips on how to stay safe in our summer heat. Click program title for more details.

Summertime doesn’t mean that you need to pack away your hiking shoes and hide indoors. If you plan ahead, know what to expect and acknowledge your limits, you can hit the trail early and get your exercise before the heat becomes dangerous. Learn about pre-hydrating, proper clothing and helpful accessories that can prepare and protect you whether you are out in nature or keeping active closer to home. The table will be set up from 8:30am - 10am so stop by the Nature Center at your leisure. Wear closed-toe shoes, a hat and sunscreen if you are doing any outdoor activities beforehand or afterwards. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center

No registration required. Just stop by any time between 8:30am and 10am!
