Desert Mistletoe Hike (Limit 10 participants. Registration required)

This is a 4.5-mile moderate hike to see an interesting plant growing in our park that is a relative of the popular holiday plant. Limit 10 participants. Registration required. Click title for details.

Join the ranger for a 4.5-mile moderate rated hike on San Tan, Hedgehog and Moonlight Trails. The theme of the hike is Desert Mistletoe, a relative of the holiday plant, that can be found growing on many of the trees in the park. There will be opportunities to see the plant up close and potentially see Phainopeplas, birds that feast on mistletoe berries during the winter season. Remember your closed-toe shoes, hat, snacks and plenty of water. Limited to 10 people. Registration required by calling the San Tan park office at 602-506-2930 x7. Meet at the main entrance trailhead map kiosk/picnic table.

  • Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to visiting parks or trails.
