Get out and explore the more remote parts of the park with Ranger and hunt for the many
cacti species that call the park home. Click program title for more details.
The hike is rated as difficult covering 5.2 miles on rocky and sandy wash gaining 367ft of elevation through some of the more remote and lush sections of the park. The Malpais hills and saguaro will tower above you. Hikers must bring 2-3 liters of water and wear supportive shoes. There is no water or bathrooms at the trailhead and hikers should have 7 dollars exact change for the iron ranger at the trailhead.
