We’re setting up our version of the silver screen in the amphitheater tonight. Once it’s dark, we’ll turn on the spotlight and enjoy the show that unfolds, as all manner of arthropods are drawn to the light. We’ll even have a few scorpions on hand to look at. This is a great opportunity to ask your bug-related questions, learn about unique and interesting animals like palo verde beetles, whipscorpions, tarantulas and giant desert centipedes, and get a good, close-up look at any insect guest stars that decide to drop in. Family friendly program. Restrooms are available nearby, but please bring plenty of water. NO pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Amphitheater, a short walk behind the Nature Center.
PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online or call the Nature Center before coming to the park.
