This unique program is designed for people who like mountain biking as much as they like to hike! We’ll start off with pedal power, bicycling approximately 3.5 miles from the Ford Canyon trailhead to the part where the trail starts to climb steeply up and terrain turns rugged. We’ll park (and lock) our bikes there, and hike up at least as far as the historic dam, a distance of roughly 1-1.5 miles. After a break at the top for snacks, we’ll hike back down to our bikes and ride back for a total distance of about 8-9 miles (combined hiking and biking). Trail is rated moderate for the section that we’ll be riding on, and extremely difficult for the section we’ll be hiking, so please know your experience and fitness level prior to signing up for this one. Sunscreen, eye protection and hats are highly encouraged. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good grip, bring plenty of water, and dress for the weather. You must bring your own bicycle, helmet (mandatory) and tire repair kit. Restrooms are available near the trailhead; water can be found at Area 4. NO pets, please.
