Celebrate the spirit of America250 on this scenic sunset hike through the heart of the Sonoran Desert. We will walk among desert giants—the saguaros—some of which have been growing since the dawn of the American story.
This 1.3-mile loop traverses the Little Leaf and Goldmine Trails and is rated easy, featuring mostly level terrain with only a few slightly rocky spots. Along the way, Ranger Jacque will discuss the incredible resilience of these desert icons and their vital role in the American landscape. Experience the beauty of the "golden hour" as the sun sets behind the mountains, painting a landscape that has inspired generations of explorers and dreamers. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, bring plenty of water, and wear sun protection. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. No pets, please.
