Ranger Shaun is headed for the barrier free Merkle Trail in hopes of spotting lizards and snakes! We’ll walk along this roughly 1-mile, mostly flat trail discussing some of the reptiles that call our desert home. If luck’s on our side, we’ll see some enjoying the afternoon sun as we make our way around the loop. Along the way we’ll also discuss plants, bugs, birds, and anything else we happen to see. Water bottles and drinking water are required, sunscreen is recommended. Port-a-potty available at trailhead, water available elsewhere in park. Please come prepared.
