Explore the desert along parts of Yavapai and Pipeline trails under the light of the full moon as we search for critters in the dark! We’ll talk about nocturnal adaptations and why so many of the animals in the desert vary their lifestyle to take advantage of the different things the desert has to offer at different times of day. It isn’t always just about heat.
This is a roughly 1.5-mile hike on easy to moderate rated trails. Due to the darkness inherent to a full moon hike, hiking poles are recommended if available. Flashlights, water bottles with drinking water, and closed toed shoes are required.
