Camping

McDowell Mountain Regional Park offers 92 individual campsites and several group camping options. There is no bad site in the park to enjoy the sweeping views of the mountains and Sonoran Desert landscape.

Group Campgrounds can be reserved by contacting the park at 602-506-2930, option #3.

E.I. Rowland Campground

The campground contains 76 individual sites for RV or tent camping. Each site has a large parking area, a picnic table, and a barbecue fire ring. These are "Developed Sites" with water and electrical hook-ups (20, 30 & 50 Amp). Several shower & restroom buildings are centrally located for camper's use. An on-site RV dump station is available for registered campers.

Ironwood Campground

16 individual sites for small camping units (max 16ft. trailer) or tents. These are “Semi-Developed Sites” with no water or electricity. Each site has a picnic table, barbecue fire ring, and tent area. Parking accommodations vary per site with some being parking lot spots and others being back-ins or pull-thrus. A restroom building and water spigot are centrally located in the campground.

Group Camping

Large groups can reserve one of three campgrounds within McDowell Mountain Regional Park. The Group Campgrounds can be reserved for a fee and requires a commitment of five units to utilize the facility for dry camping. Reservations open a year in advance of the arrival date.

Group Campground – Can fit up to 15 large camping units. Amenities: Restroom with flush toilets and hot water showers, a covered ramada with 6 picnic tables, a large barbecue grill, and a large fire ring for campfires.

Youth Group Area – Can fit up to 20 large camping units. Open for reservation for groups other than youth or scout groups. Amenities: Large parking area, port-a-johns, water spigot, shaded picnic tables, large fire ring, and large barbecues.

Minks Camp – Can fit up to 10 small camping units. Amenities: Small parking area, port-a-johns, shaded picnic tables, large fire ring, and large barbecues.
