This a 4.5-mile moderate/difficult hike with the ranger. The route goes up and over Goldmine Mountain to the graves on the north side and follows the same route up and over for the return. Limit 10 participants. Registration required. Click title for details.
Join the ranger on this moderate/difficult 4.5-mile hike that explores the history of Goldmine Trail. The hike starts at the main trailhead and goes up to the Goldmine lookout point. Then we will go down the north side to the graves of Mansel Carter and Marion Kennedy. We follow the same route back up and over for the return trip. Hiking poles recommended. Remember your closed-toe shoes, hat, snacks and plenty of water. Limit 10 participants. Registration required by calling the San Tan park office at 602-506-2930 x7. Meet at the main entrance map kiosk/picnic table.
- Physical distancing. Observe the CDC’s minimum recommended physical distancing of six (6) feet from others at all times. Share the trail and warn other trail users of your presence as you pass.
- Personal hygiene. Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to visiting parks or trails.
- Other. Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting symptoms. If you sneeze while recreating on a trail, please sneeze into your elbow to avoid the spread of germs.
