Desert washes are unique places that are critical to the well-being of the desert. They provide shelter and travel routes for desert critters of all sizes, channel storm runoff, and reveal a cutaway view of what’s underground. Join Ranger Justin and park volunteers on an early morning discovery walk through one of the larger washes in the park, which is normally closed to hiking. Most of the walk is in the wash bottom, which has a rocky, uneven surface. This hike is not suitable for very young children. Please leave your dog at home. This hike is limited to 20 people, so registration is required. Please call park Nature Center to register, 623-935-2505. Registration begins June 19th.
